Weekend Getaway Haul + Video

The Challenge
Shopping while out of town can be exhilarating--seeing new areas, discovering new stores, having fun with a friend or daughter(!), actually having time to browse (which is a big one for me).
There is, however, the consideration of getting your purchases back home and coordinating items to what you may have at in your closet already (without accidentally duplicating!).

See My Purchases Video Below!

The Details
My haul:  Only one of my items was on summer clearance, but the others should serve me well, because they coordinate with so many of my other pieces.
  • Sanctuary white peasant top, jean friendly, statement sleeves (here)
  • Lucky Brand sleeveless top, clearance, great for summer weather, equally versatile with cardigans when the weather starts cooling down. (here)
  • Leopard Sandals Sarto brand, can be worn ten months (or more) of the year
  • Beaded hat, it was time to mix up the style a little bit (similar)
  • Earrings it's hard to find sparkly ones that aren't rhinestone and dressy.
  • Free People bralette an inexpensive, fun (hopefully) experiment (here)
  • Eileen Fisher pants An investment piece that should look current for years.  (In the video, I stated these are a cropped flare, they are not flare.)
  • Madewell Hasta Luego graphic tee, a wear-everywhere piece that will work on most occasions.
It all fit in my suitcase for the trip home!

The Takeaway
Look for garments that can be worn several ways and will go with two, three or more of things you already own.  Pick up a hard-to-find wish list item.  Grab work-horse pieces to start wearing immediately.  Save up for splurges, such as something you may not find at home.  Oh, and make sure you have extra room in your suitcase!
(I used a filter on one or two of these photos as the shirt seemed to get blown out.)
