Faux Kimono Using a Scarf

Challenge
When Nancy at Nancy's Fashion Style and Shelbee at Shelbee on the Edge decided to host a Good Buy/Goodbye kimono event, I wanted to join, but didn't have a kimono.
Whatever to do?  Fortunately, I saw Jodie's (A Touch of Style) post on Styling Summer Clothing.  On it, Charlotte was featured with a scarf used as a kimono.  Perfect!  Scarves, I have.

The Details
This scarf was found on eBay this spring.  It was chosen because of the colors, however, in the photos the blush appeared ivory, at least it is a happy accident and a Good-Buy.  The colors are so lovely!  If you would like to see how you can copy the look, check out this video:  Turning a Scarf into a Kimono Vest.  I decided the DIY Distressed Bermuda Shorts would be a great addition and I really liked the contrast between the brown top and lighter color scarf/vest.

Since I noticed that I had a farmer's tan from my recent Weekend in Detroit, I added a pink t-shirt for Photo Op No. 2.

The Takeaway
Where there's a will, there's a YouTube video!  Ha ha!  Scarves are so versatile--take a look at what you have if you need an outfit accent of some sort.  Use other bloggers and YouTubers for inspiration.

  2. Holy cow, how clever! I swear YouTube has the answer to everything! Ok Kim I don't notice a farmer's tan but I sure like it with the pink tee and that pretty necklace, those soft colors are so nice with your kimono-scarf, maybe we should call it a scarmono? That could be a thing! You look great my friend!
