What to Wear with a Graphic Tee

The Challenge
You've bought the graphic tee because you thought it was, well, cool (maybe that's just me).  Now what do you do with it?  You don't want to look like you're going to do house- or yard work, let's bring on the style!

The Details
My Hasta Luego shirt has been on the blog a few times, now.  Wearing it with denim is a "no-brainer" as seen with my denim shorts in my Weekend Getaway Haul post.  You've also seen it with my air travel outfit.  Would you, however, consider pairing one with some "fancy pants"?  I knew it would amp up the fall-season feel, so used my rust pants, paired with my mustard cardigan (inspired by an Instagram-er Rachel @fashionable_later).  Flat, casual sandals would have worked well, but I wanted to continue the fall look with dark wedge gladiator sandals.  I was delighted with how well my Patricia Nash camo handbag played with the other colors.  Occasionally, I struggle with the best necklaces to add to not cover up the graphic.  This "spike" one from French Kande works well to add a little presence without going overboard and interfering with the print.  Just where did I wear my fancy pants/graphic tee outfit?  Out to coffee with a friend, an appointment with an attorney, and switched into shorts to babysit the Grands in the evening!

The Takeaway
Keep plugging away at styling your graphic tee.  Wear one with your "fancy pants" and see how you feel about the look.  Experiment with footwear and jewelry.  Sooner or later you'll hit a look that is authentically you, polished, and comfortable.

  1. I remember before blogging that I thought graphic tees were too juvenile. Well, how that has changed now...LOL!! They are a fun way to add life into an outfit, and you show how to do that perfectly, Kim!!

  6. I'm sure glad you did this because I kinda get stumped with my graphic tees! I think I can recreate part of this look for fall. I have a mustard colored cardi and you have inspired me to wear it with my graphic tee - I would not have thought to do this otherwise! Thanks friend, you look ready for Florida fall!!!

  8. Hey Kim! I have quite a few graphic tees hanging in my closet, so I'm always looking for new ways to style. In spite of the fact that I have many tees already, your outfit makes me want "hasta luego". hahahah! I love the colors you pulled from it and the relaxed, easy style. Thank you so much for linking up with the Sunday Showcase and for the IG follows. Looking forward to getting to know you more!
