The Challenge
You know how sometimes you may buy something because you've seen it "around" in stores, on other bloggers or Instagramers and have started liking it? Does that describe you with camouflage print?
On the other side of the coin, I know it's not a favorite for many who have connotations with the military or hunting.
Maybe you've been a camo admirer since way back. That would describe me, although my "way back" was when it first started appearing on the fashion scene which was four to five years ago, if my memory serves me. I was attracted the varying colors and the un-exactness of the print.
The Details
I wanted to revisit this outfit styling, seen at Weekend Getaway Winners and Losers when I wore it very much the same way while I was in Minneapolis while spending a morning at the Farmers' Market. For this version, I swapped out a new, flowing split neck tank top from Target for my Eileen Fisher cami (same color, more coverage). The hat and denim shirt are fun additions and add more texture and interest. This is the hat from Weekend Getaway Haul and Video post . The denim shirt has an ombre fade and is Jones New York. The sandals are Joseph Seibel found at Nordstrom Rack this spring. (Note to self: Stop using this purple stone/leather tassel necklace for photo shoots, as it has a mind of its own!)
The Takeaway
If you are little stumped with implementing camouflage print into your wardrobe, just think of it as solid green and work from there. If pants or a shirt feel too masculine in camouflage print, consider something more "girly," like a skirt, or a softer, flowing top.
