What to Wear with Cropped Wide Leg Jeans

The Challenge
The beginning of this challenge was finding a pair of wide-legged cropped jeans.
The search began online.  Madewell has two styles, I tried them both (one in store and one through the mail), but they weren't the best fit.  Next up were Boden (ordered) which fit well in the waist area, but were too long in the crotch (I don't think it's a fault of the pants, but my shape requirements).  Then came Reba (from store) which were pretty good, although the length was a little shorter than I was wanting.  The winner ended up being SP Black from Nordstrom, which I ordered on a whim, because the price was reduced.  When I opened them, I thought  they looked too small, but through the magic of spandex, they fit pretty well and I liked the length a lot better than the Reba ones.

The Details
So, here we are!  Although I'm quite happy with the fit, a high waist is almost always going to give me a squishy muffin top.  I am addressing that by pairing them with my peasant shirt which has some fullness and the addition of coordinating sandals and accessories.  This is a swap out from my What to Wear with a Peasant Top post.  I'm looking forward to styling these with more "wintery" clothes, if it ever cools off here!

The Takeaway
Decide how particular you are going to be about an item of clothing, or how important it is with amount of wearings you expect to get, etc.  If it's worth it, keep trying till you are happy with your purchase.  I can completely appreciate if you think I was a little nutty with my quest!
