What to Wear with a Graphic T-Shirt: Skirt Edition

The Challenge
My primary challenge for this outfit was stay cool!
A couple of days ago, I did a lot of running around town.  I wore my printed crops with a cotton tank top.  The pants are linen, but by the end of the day the fabric felt too heavy.  I spent a lot of time in the car, so that probably added to the heat factor.  Honestly, I felt hotter than Hades!  The following day, resulted in this tee/skirt combo as I searched for the coolest items possible.

The Details
The Madewell Hasta Luego t-shirt you've seen before.  The blogger section of my brain is thinking, "come on, get a different t-shirt."  The wardrobe manager section of my brains is thinking, "darn, girl, that t-shirt was a good purchase, since you can wear it so many ways!"  The skirt is a re-worked cabi skirt from a few years back.  (It was more gathered at the waist and shorter length.  The gathers were removed and the hem let down.)   It is very lightweight, either rayon or cotton.  I would frequently add a belt to a look like this, but it was left off to keep cooler.

I am delighted that this outfit came together so well.  I have a Pin (below) from quite some time ago that I've wanted to emulate and this is close enough for me!

My Micheal Kors handbag coordinates a little better with the tee which has blue letters, while the skirt has more of a green/teal, but I think it all works.  I wanted you to see the earrings.  I made them, and the stone is a pink ruby, which is the color I'm crushing on right now.  The wire part may be too long, I'm going to live with them for awhile and see if I want to switch it out.

The Takeaway
Keep mixing and matching the pieces you own to come up with new combinations!  Buy pieces that will span across your wardrobe.  How about you?  Have you purchased any workhorse pieces, lately?

    1. Thank you, dear friend! I know you "get" the heat, ugh! I felt like this shirt was all over the place on the blog, but it's not too bad. I like seeing the same pieces styled differently, too.
