What to Wear with a Pink Cardigan

The Challenge
Well, this is a little bit, or maybe a lot, selfish.  When Salazar from 14 Shades of Grey
selected the piece "Melody (Musica)" for Style Imitating Art, I jumped on the gold and pink in the photo.  Seeing it pictured here, I'm thinking maybe I should have used red and green.  Alas, it gave me an excuse to feature this outfit using my new current crush a pink/purple colored cardigan to which I referred in My Three Fall Trend Picks post.

The Details
The cardigan is the from Cotton On (no longer available online), it's a bit oversized in a boyfriend/grandpa kind of way.  The pants were picked up impulsively while I was shopping with one of my daughter's recently--I didn't even try them on.  My floral booties made me happiest with this combo.  The shirt was found this spring from Chico's.  If it looks yellow-y in the closeup, it's because I dyed it.  Yeah, I don't wear true white.  Funny note, see the cropped photo where I'm sitting on the edge of the fountain?  I'm holding myself up because the way the fountain flows gets the entire lip wet, not damp, wet!

The Takeaway
Not sure what to wear with your pink?  How about a warm mustard yellow?  Oh, and feel free to "stretch the boundaries" a little when using art as inspiration!

  1. What a great color combo! You know how much I love pink and I am never at a loss for what to pair it with but I've NEVER worn it with mustard. It looks great and I will definitely re-create this combo. I love those floral booties too, I'd love a pair myself!
Well done and just beautiful my friend!

  2. Yes, yes and more yes. I love this color combo. In fact I wore it at the start of October when we were talking about breast cancer awareness. I think it's fun to get creative with colors this way. And it's so bright and happy!!

  5. Well Kim, you nailed it. 100 times better than the photo you provided. That cardigan is thebomb.com and I love the fabulous oversized tassel millennial pink necklace. But those floral booties - oh my! I have always loved and tried several times the combo of soft pink or blush with mustard but now I need to try it with fuchsia, too. =)
