Ya know, I didn't realize how much "color clashing" and monochromatic looks were integrated into my wardrobe until I started documenting my outfits.
It may have began because of a desire to wear an unexpected look and I think it is often accomplished using both of those approaches. I used the opportunity of this post to combine both the TBB and SIA art ladies. The long cardigan covers the cozy sweater theme and the color-way, cuffs and neckline interest echoes the young girl in the Scandinavian fashion plate artwork.

The DetailsBoth the cardigan and red blouse need to be replaced as they are too big, but they are sufficing at the moment. The cardigan was found at Nordstrom while we were visiting Seattle and I was in need of another warm layer to combat the cold and damp weather. The Chico's blouse is from eBay, I found an identical one recently in a smaller size and bought it--it's on its way. Turmeric cabi skirt, J. Jill belt, Kathy VanZeland pumps and Michael Kors watch were also found on eBay. Orange large-bead necklace found at consignment.
The Takeaway
Keep on workin' those color clash combos, girls! And, check out the resale sites.
A couple of comments about the photo location: I am helpless with shooting trees and pipes coming out of the top of my head since I use a tripod and can't really tell until the photos are downloaded. Did you notice the tripod/camera shadow in the first photo?--Ha, ha, a tell-tale sign!

DeleteBeautiful! I always love to see you in a dress! Because it is surprising. You always look cool in trousers, you look more like a trousers type. But I think the dress looks very very good on you.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate your observation, Nancy. I actually have quite a collection of skirts and have been thinking they've been neglected lately. I will try to feature them more in the future.
DeleteI love the term color clash, because it seems fun and rebellious!!
