My challenge was styling these light colored pants for a cooler temperature look.
We finally got some fall-like weather here! One of my favorite combinations is teal and olive, but since I just wore my olive cardi in recent post, I decided another tone on tone outfit was a good way to go.
The Details
This is a cabi-heavy outfit. I'm wearing Tidal skinny jeans, a rhubarb Cinch belt and Ever cardigan. The jeans and belt were found on Zulily, the cardigan on a resale site. Desigual scarf was purchased on eBay for a Seattle trip. The Eileen Fisher tank is from Nordstrom on clearance, it has a longer shirttail that hangs below the back of the cardigan. After my last whiney-pants post, I find it rather humorous that 100% of this outfit was ordered online (Earth booties, too)! Another fun option would be adding bright green jewelry to bring out that color in the scarf. I have a bright green bracelet (surprise, surprise), but was feeling the reds today. You will notice that the blues in the scarf aren't exact to the blues in the the pants and cardigan, or the green of tank for that matter, but blend well together.
The Takeaway
A lot of the time we look for scarves to pull out colors that are already in our outfits, but they can work just as well if they blend. It took me several attempts to get this outfit looking the way I wanted it to. Most (or all) of you fashionistas know that putting outfits together can take some trial and error. Some days more error than others--LOL!
