The ChallengeI'm not sure what I'm going to wear for Easter, yet, are you? Maybe my new blue dress or this outfit.
Since I've been trying to update my pencil skirt looks, I thought adding a babydoll top, funky shoes and tassel necklace would do the trick. What do you think?
The Details
The Talbots cardigan was purchased this spring at the outlets in Allen, TX. The Talbots skirt was found while thrifting in a size 24W. (I have a photo from when I first bought it, but it's on the dead computer ⚰.) It also looked like someone had cleaned the floor with it. Since the colors and print were so spot-on for me, I decided to roll the $4 dice and buy it. Its tag read "Dry Clean," but since it was in such bad shape, I washed it by hand. It was then taken in and shortened, including the lining, and now it's an entirely new skirt--the gamble paid off. (It may be able to be taken it in a little more. I'll decide after it gets worn a time or two.) I wanted to pull out the orange color in the outfit, (If you think the skirt will go with my orange cardigan, too, you're right!) so decided to make another necklace. All of the bits and bobs were in my bead stash to put this one together. (The dragon fly looks likes he's weighing down the side too much, he may have to be surgically removed-haha!)
The Takeaway
If you feel like pieces in your wardrobe are feeling tired, try switching up the tried (or tired)-and-true way you've been wearing them and see if you can give them new life. If you sew, don't forget to check bigger sizes at the thrift store to see if there's something you can work with.

Gosh I adore the colors in this entire outfit I have to say I don't know what I'm going to wear for Easter yet only because it seems like it's supposed to snow, crazy right?
