The Challenge
My coral pants, no matter how cute I think they are, have been giving me styling problems. When I approached the perennially stylish Fonda at Savvy Southern Chic, who has successfully styled her
coral pants several times on her blog, to join me in a combined styling post, she generously agreed!

The Details
We decided to each style our coral pants--hers are skinny jeans, mine are cargo--three different ways. So, today, you are getting six (woot!) ways to style yours.
My first look has a Boho vibe. The mixed-print loose top was added, along with gladiator sandals, hat, and beaded necklace.

My second look is with a simple t-shirt. The flowers in the t-shirt coordinate well with the pants, which was "dumb luck," as I purchased the top last summer at Zara and the pants this spring at the cabi outlet. I love how the blush sandals both disappear and give the outfit a more dressed up look. By the way, this is the third necklace I tried with this shirt. I didn't think the blush opal stones would work, but they do! My flat Birkenstocks would work just as well with this combo, if I have a lot of walking around to do.

For my last look, I considered going with a jacket or cardigan, but I wasn't feeling any that I tried on. This long sleeved peasant top includes pale orange, blush, and blue stripes. I decided to play up the blue by using teal with the necklace (which was tied in back to make it shorter) and bracelet to add some bold contrast. You can see how well leopard goes with coral, too. (These pants have also been worn with a leopard belt in the past.)

The TakeawayAs I continue re-learning, trying on several items to see what works with a "problem" piece of clothing, should give me several looks with which I am ultimately happy. Have Fonda and I inspired you to mix up your closet and drawer options, or take the plunge with colored pants?
