Welcome to this edition of Style Imitating Art!
Style Imitating Art challenges us to look to create an outfit using art as inspiration. In addition to colors, you may also want to look at textures, mood, style, genre. There are no "wrong" outfits, and you don't need to be literal.

My Look
When Danael selected this I was very tempted to go with the coloring as my wardrobe has plenty of reds/oranges/greens/yellows, or I could have gone with embroidery, BUT the flowers got me. I had to use this floral top, mainly because it's my only floral top! This top was featured not that long ago at another Style Imitating Art: Teal Top Mustard Pants. This time it's completely different, as in now, it's no longer got 3/4 sleeves! Yes, I removed the sleeves. You may be shaking your head right now, thinking: "Girl, don't you leave anything alone?" (Let's just say I have a very customized wardrobe!) The deal was, the sleeves were tight--I usually wear large, but the medium fit better, except the sleeves were snug. I've been muddling along with it--I actually bought lace to cut open the sleeves and make them wider, but I thought I'd go this route first. It's another piece that's gotten a new lease on life. With the sleeves on, it made me feel fat. Ugh.
The Tomgirl shorts were just shown on Friday's post, but I wanted to use them to emulate the disintegration of the pocket's tie. Speaking of ties, did you notice the "tied" leather and pearl necklace? Yes, it's another made-by-me-original inspired copy of a Sundance one (their pearls look bigger, and when I bought mine, I forgot there were six). And, say what? The sandals that appeared in Friday Favorites #18 actually are working for me!
