The Challenge
The deal is, I ended up with this bishop-sleeve cabi cardigan. Way back in early spring, I went to my cabi stylist's open house of new products. If you liked something of her samples that fit you, youcould reserve it to buy at 1/2 price once the season ended. At that point, I told her I might be interested in this cardigan. When I paid for it and received it (mailed to me) I wondered what I had been thinking!? It's cropped with full, bishop sleeves--a styling challenge!
The Details
You may be wondering why I'm so bundled up anyway in July. I have a couple of standing weekly coffee meetups with some friends and the a/c gets cold! Sometimes I question the wisdom of wearing sandals! This trusty beige eyelet top has appeared several times on the blog (I'm not sure what I'm going to do when it needs to be retired!) and matches perfectly with the Bishop cardigan. I did a front tuck, but had to mess with it a bit--trying a twist and just a plain tuck. I figured I'd add more cabi with the jeans and liked the neutral vibe with my accessories. I used the Brahmin handbag that appeared on last week's How to Wear Leopard in Summer post to add to the neutral look. Unfortunately, I didn't get any shots with my hands not in my pockets. I think the cardigan will work best over a long shirt as shown here, at least on my body type.
The Takeaway
Don't be afraid to give different proportions a fair shake with styling. These full sleeves won't be for everyone, but you never know, unless you try!
