As for me, I said in my prosperity, "I shall never be moved."  By your favor, O LORD, you made my mountain stand strong; you hid your face; I was dismayed.  Ps. 30:6-7

About Style Imitating Art
Style Imitating Art is hosted bi-weekly by Daenel~Living Outside the Stacks, Salazar~14 Shades of Grey and me.  Style Imitating Art challenges us to look to create an outfit using art as an inspiration.  In addition to colors, you may also want to consider textures, style, mood, genre.  There are no "wrong" outfits, and you don't need to be literal.

The Inspiration
The current artwork is a teapot selected by Daenel because, "I like the colors and I’ve developed an interest in tea and teapots. Not giving up my coffee but I love the prettiness and ceremony that is attached to tea."

The Curator
This selection was curated by Daenel at Living Outside the Stacks.

My Look
The pretty aqua blue half of the teapot really caught and held my eye.  Combine that with I've been wanting to feature this cardigan and this was the perfect opportunity.  Ya'll know I like to pile on monochromatic colors and see what happens, so adding the cardigan to this, yet unworn, top worked really well, I think (top seen at a mini Walmart try-on).  Taking a cue from the white clouds on the teapot, white jeans were selected as a base.  The necklace, while originally purchased to coordinate with my white booties, also conveniently pulls the sandals in with the dark leather tassel.  I love happy accidents like that, don't you?  The little clutch seemed like a nice addition, but seeing it in the photos, makes me think a straw bag would be so much better.

Now, let's talk about the cardigan.  The thrifted, Joan Rivers cardigan has been on the blog before.*  Since the original peach color was so pale and I have another peach/salmon jacket, it was in the queue to be dyed.  With blue dye sitting around, quarantine, and silver hair, it created the perfect storm to finally do it.  (Dye formula:  Two parts teal to one part evening blue.)  For some reason the front of the cardigan didn't dye very smoothly, although you can't really tell unless you're looking closely.  Anyway, now that it's a done deal, I can't say how much I'll reach for it, but I do really like this combo.
