Style Imitating Art is hosted bi-weekly be Salazar~14 Shades of Grey, Daenel~Living Outside the Stacks and me. Style Imitating Art challenges us to look to creating an outfit using art as an inspiration. In addition to colors, you may also want to look at textures, mood, genre and style. There are no "wrong" outfits and you don't need to be literal.

My Look
I wanted to keep the high saturation, clear colors and crisp lines of our inspiration piece. To that end, I knew I wanted to be cool, so dark wash denim shorts were the first thing selected. Then it was deciding on gold and green colors also in heat-friendly fabrics. My mustard gold items are limited, so this linen jacket was the obvious choice. It's really too hot to wear this jacket outside, but would work when the mornings/evenings get cool again, or in max A/C. While I have a few olive green tops this Eileen Fisher silk tank is the most intense color wise.
Not wanting to draw the eye down, my neutral Free Bird lace up shoes were selected. A belt was left off as to not break up the color lines.
