How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed?  And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard?  And how are they to hear without someone preaching?  And how are they to preach unless they are sent?  As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!" My Look
Hey friends!  I'm doing better every day, getting more mobile and stable.  I'm still using the walker, but am able let go of it if I'm taking a few close-by steps in the kitchen, bedroom or bathroom.  Meds are still being taken on a consistent schedule.  My physical therapist is going to bring me a cane to try this week.  Ya'll, I don't mind using a walker when no one else is seeing me, but going out with a cane--I'm not sure my ego can deal with it--and I can usually dump my ego for practicality, we'll see where this goes.  Apparently, some people can go right from a walker to no assistance, I'm hoping I'm one of those people.  I can sure move around more easily than before the surgery.  I'm looking forward to seeing what the doctor says, my two-week checkup is this morning.

Now, the outfit!  Since the friends in our art look so charming in their dresses, I was hoping to wear one.  Because my knee is still bandaged, I knew my brown lantern pants would be a better stand in for a base.  For the top half, I started by out pulling my teal tank top, but it seemed awfully dark when compared to the artwork's pretty blue.  Next, I slipped on my new Free People cardigan, but that was overly heavy.  Not done, yet, I selected my tie-front green cardigan, which I loved, but decided to go with a more summery look since it's still so hot out.  The mustard tank top became the winner.  Blue was added with my necklace, bracelet and scarf.  The scarf also has dark pink flowers that I think compliments the red on the cards and items on the table.  There certainly is a lot less blue in the outfit than I was hoping for!

Details.

  • Usually, I think my Doc Marten sandals look a little bit cordovan, but today, they seem to harmonize really well with my brown pants.
  • A brown handbag sounds very yawn-inducing if you ask me, however, I think the modern/retro satchel design, map print leather and scarf tied at the handle is anything but.  Also, didn't notice it till I uploaded the photos, but none of my browns match.  I love that, it adds so much more interest!
  • What do you think about the mustard tank?  I love mustard color clothing, but don't like it as a standalone piece, especially with my hair, now.  I have another rust tank top that I'm planning on dyeing red.  What do you think, should I keep this as mustard (using it for layering) or give it a dye bath, too?
