Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in your Law, 'I said, you are gods'?  If he called them gods to whom the word of God came--and Scripture cannot be broken--do you say of him whom the Father consecrated and sent into the world, 'You are blaspheming', because I said, 'I am the Son of God'?  John 10:34-36

Hey, friends!  It's good to have you here, today!

This weekend our youngest daughter came over both Saturday and Sunday.  Saturday turned into a margaritas-by-the-pool afternoon (after she razor cut my hair) with movies in the evening, while Sunday was more chill with us all on our various technologies of choice.  Later, we popped on another movie and Steve made chocolate martinis and he and Jacklyn ran out for some pizza.  She thought she'd be wearing out her welcome--silly girl!

Since we had some cool weather a few days ago, I utilized today's "Fall Formula," which actually came about in the spring, as you may remember from my 6 Tips for Evaluating Your Wardrobe post.  Fortunately, it works just as well for the transitional fall weather.

Starting with gauze is this Universal Threads top (not currently available).  I think the popover style and banded collar look more updated that a traditional shirt collar and button front.  It would be wise for me to search for a sewing pattern with these details!  Gauze is also perfect for wash and wear (I hang all of my tops to dry).

Since gauze is more of a summer fabric, you may have a challenge finding it in stores right now if you're interested in it.  Johnny Was often carries gauze top versions year 'round.  Soft Surroundings has lots of gauze tops, too.

Then, it's just a matter of adding your favorite denim and whatever footwear is weather appropriate.  While white denim is not religated to just summer, anymore, I like this combo of plaid ("Hello, Fall") and white (I'm not saying "goodbye" to Summer, yet).  And, of course, accessories!  The necklace is French Kande.  It's a nice statement piece, and one of only a couple necklaces with white that I have.  The Botkier handbag is one of my early purchases when I started DYT and I still like it.

This outfit formula really works for me when I need an easy put-together look.  How about you?  Do you have a dressing formula for transitional weather?
