Friday Favorites #81 ~ Year End Recap

And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.  Colossians 3:14

Hey friends!  I really, really wasn't sure if I was going to return to the blog, but decided to go ahead and hit "Publish."  It's been a good six weeks since my last post.

I figured it was pretty easy to do a year-end recap, so that's what I'm up to!
After my (2nd knee replacement) surgery, I pretty much laid around.  I couldn't muster up any enthusiasm for Christmas or our trip to Florida or blogging.  (Ya'll may remember we were planning a trip there over Christmas.)  Christmas shopping barely got done--the girls only got one main thing.  We wouldn't have had a tree if my girls didn't come over at put it up for us.  We used the same slim 7 ft. tree from the apartment last year.

I also didn't care enough about my own gifts to let Steve know what I wanted.  So.  I got myself (from him, haha) two gifts.  A new Jo Malone bath oil and a Free People cardigan that I looked at and looked at, but hadn't purchased for myself.  I plan to do a post with that next week.

We celebrated Christmas on New Year's day with our TX girls.  I was feeling much better at this point.

During our Florida trip, we rented a condo at Madeira Beach, then a house in Wesley Chapel.  I was worried about spending so much time in the car, but we stopped every couple of hours so I could walk around.  (Potty breaks were much appreciated, too!).

The trip was really too long.  Live and learn, though.  We were hoping our TX girls would join us, but it didn't work out.  The weather was so-so, we had some nice days, but it did get cold on us.  We had Christmas day dinner with our daughter and the grandkids.

I kept my dressing low key and packed a few sleeveless tops and a couple of t-shirts.

It seems no matter how bad I feel, I always have some energy for house decorating.  We got the bathroom painted that I had been working on stripping the wallpaper.  I'll include a photo of the whole update, soon.

Confession:  While one daughter was putting up our Christmas tree, the other was painting this wall.  Please disregard everything but the wall and artwork, as the dining set and chandelier will be going through some changes.  While I love the color, I'm not sure it will stay this dark.  House styles right now are Light and Bright, but I prefer more saturated colors--we'll see.

Recently, I've also done some shopping to find fabric to coordinate with the terra cotta/peach fireplace beast.  The pillow in the foreground, using fabric from our old house, goes so well with it, but it's not the style I want to go with.

Lastly, my daughter took me to a farmers' market of sorts.  I was pretending to buy a $20 case of broccoli, as I eat lots of it!

Have a wonderful weekend!
