Air Travel Outfit and What to Pack /Weekend in Detroit

Challenge
You may have seen my posts What to Wear for Air Travel and What to Pack for a Summer Weekend Getaway
This post is combining what-to-wear-for-air travel and what-to-pack.  Today's outfit is part of my quest to find the perfect travel outfit/uniform.  Also included is what's in the suitcase for the suburbs of Detroit weekend.  This time Darling Husband and I are visiting his Dad, sister and brother-in-law.  Darling Husband, sister and BIL are participating in a mini triathlon(!).  This trip will be a little more casual than my Minneapolis trip.  My enabler SIL already has some shopping time scheduled in for us!

The Details
I found these fantastic joggers at Nordstrom Rack made from Tencel that I'm hoping will be wonderful for traveling.  (Jeans are great, don't get my wrong!)  I'm wearing them with my Hasta Luego graphic tee, last seen in my Weekend Getaway Haul post, along with several other new clothing items.  A cardigan will also be included for temperature fluctuations.

In the suitcase:  Natural-colored cropped jeans, rust cropped pants, graphic tees (green and yellow), striped peasant top, purple eyelet top, rust tank, purple cardigan, jean shorts, chartreuse tee, rust bralette.  Shoes:  NOT the Birkenstock sneakers, my feet are still sore from a month ago!  I think I will wear my Birkenstock Gizehs and pack my leopard sandals and new (yeah, I'm doing that again) pale coral sandals.

Outfit Day 1)  White jeans and Rolling Stones tee.  Evening:  Rust pants, eyelet top
Outfit Day 2)  Jean shorts, chartreuse tee (this is race day, so it will be uber casual).
Outfit Day 3) White jeans, rust tank, purple cardigan.  Evening:  Rust pants, peasant top

The Takeaway
Pack according to what activities you will be participating in.  Avoid "independent" clothing choices that don't coordinate with other items you are packing.  Make sure your selections mix and match.

P.S.  I took the photos indoors to keep the perspiration factor down as all clothing items are clean.  Today was the first time I've ever had a facial, so my face/neck are slightly splotchy.

  1. I'm sending this to my mom because we were having a little issue about joggers. I wanted her to wear some and she didn't....I'm hoping I win out...

    1. Ha ha! I think they *can* be a little harder to style. It seems getting the right shoe is key. I'll be watching your posts to see how it plays out.

    1. Thank you, Kellyann. Birkenstocks are a "must" for me, since I have fussy feet.

  4. Great choices, Kim, comfort and colour. Love the leoprint sandals and your Birkies are more versatile than mine, which are clumpy. Loved the post, hugs x.
