What to Wear with a Peasant Top

The Challenge
How to wear a peasant top while looking current and not like you've stepped out of the 1970s, doesn't have to be challenging.
One way to happily add some "peasant" to your wardrobe is putting it with other items that are undoubtedly 21st Century.  This look was put together to meet up for coffee with a girlfriend one weekday morning.  It has a bit of a "clashing color" energy going on with the mixing of pink and orange, which seems to be a favorite combo here at Fierce Fashion!

The Details
This top was first debuted in the Weekend Getaway Haul post and  I was "all about" putting it with blue jeans, which will undoubtedly pop up at some point.  The sleeves are full length, but I've pushed them up to give a tiered ruffle look.  Elements that make it 2018--the blush accents in the belt and stone necklace, oversized earrings and athletic-style sandals.  Let's not forget distressed, cropped white, skinny jeans.  In the last photo, it's nice to add a pop of blue to give it a bit of unexpected brightness.  When it gets cooler, booties would be a great addition to this look.

The Takeaway
If you haven't much explored the peasant look, but would like to, remember to add a piece in with your other wardrobe items--it's likely you'll be peasant-ly surprised!

  2. I love this combination, Kim!!! That's exactly how I try to think about an outfit if I'm worried a piece might be considered older or too vintage----add something modern!!
