Holiday Casual Red and Purple

The Challenge
Ho Ho Holiday Outfit time!  The challenge was putting together a holiday outfit using my new cabi top.
When I ordered it, I thought is was red.  As in Red.  Ha!  It's color is sooo much like the Target top I wore in my last post.  However, the other top matches better with my sandals, so it must be slightly different, at least that's what I'm telling myself!  When I test drove this outfit combo, I felt like "thebomb.com."  Seeing the photos, I'm going to rethink it.  For as much as I like tonal outfits, this one is just "okay."  Although, if attitude counts, this one will work just fine!

(When I was taking photos, I was wondering why I was so hot.  It turns out the temp was 75℉ (24℃), BUT the humidity was 92%.  You read that right, 92 percent!  Sigh, Florida in winter.)

The Details
Talbots cardigan, past season, in color "Merlot."  Cabi Cinch Top,  Vintage America jeans, Bella Vita Sandals, cabi Cinch Belt in rhubarb.  Heart necklace from The Met.  Various "Bourbon & Bowtie"- style bracelets.  The Dooney handbag is at least a couple of years old, it was one of those impulse buys while shopping at an outlet mall.  Darling Husband encouraged me to get it--the color suits my wardrobe so well.  It gets the most use during this time of year.  The Michael Kors pom pom was a Christmas gift from my girls a few years ago--whether they are particularly in style right now, or not, I'm going with it--besides, it's fun!

The Takeaway
Photos tell their own story.  If you don't like the end results, try again.  On the other hand, I could wear this another day and feel like "The Bomb," again...

    2. FYI...I wasn't sure if you realized that I don't get a notice of your response, Kim? I remember when I first figured this out the first year of blogging, which is one reason why I use Disqus. But there are other ways too if you are interested.
I know Shelbee on the Edge uses one that just replies to my comments instead of it telling you when there are comments from everyone (which is annoying).
I just thought you might want to know if you didn't realize it....
      Happy Saturday.

  2. I think you are thebomb.com! I really like this outfit - the colors are great together and the pieces all work so well. The handbag is great and I love the shoes - but the bracelets are so much FUN!!!

    1. Ha ha, my girls would "die" if they saw I used that expression! Thank you! Those bracelets were all over the place here a couple of years ago, not so much now, but I love the chunkiness and that you can customize the stack for each outfit. Plus, they are in abundance at consignment stores now! Hugs, have a great wweeeekk!

  4. I love the color combo, but when you are not feeling it or seeing it for yourself in photos, it's time to try again. I totally get that, it happens to me all the time.
