The Challenge
The current Style Imitating Art challenge, hosted by Daenel at Living Outside the Stacks and Salazar at 14 Shades of Grey, inspiration piece is a photo of the Bollinger Covered Bridge taken by Daenel.
With this picture, I was most captivated by the surrounding sky.  That, along with the light boards were the main inspiration for today's outfit.

The Details
I know what you're thinking:  "D*mn, she looks just like the inspo piece!"  Haha!  I used to have a chartreuse colored cardigan, but since that is no longer around, I needed to "make do" a bit so used tonal colors with a mustard cardigan and chartreuse top.  On the face of it, it doesn't seem like these two colors would coordinate, but instead look "off."  (That little "tail" that I put on the top with a small, clear elastic was not supposed to show, it was tucked under a few times, but stubbornly popped back out.  Note to self, next time make the tail on the inside of the shirt, ugh!)  To my surprise, they are quite harmonious.  I came reallyreallyclose to using a scarf instead of the necklace because it had striations of rust colors, but this Southern Living bauble (similar) doesn't get enough love.  Speaking of not getting enough love, these cabi skinnies don't get enough love either, and I'm not sure why.  I just don't reach for them--the color seems a little harder to style to me--whaaat?!  Color is my jam!   The booties give it a little wood-tone grounding and the clutch was grabbed to coordinate adding a bit of "shadowy" black.

The Takeaway
Keep on experimenting with your tonal pieces, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised!
