The Challenge
Ya'll may remember this is one of my purchases from Ashlins, Ltd. boutique in downtown Grapevine,
TX. Since Johnny Was is pretty much all about Boho styling, it was a "no-brainer" to go the jeans and booties route!
The Details
I'm so loving this top, I've worn it a few times, already. It's double-layered gauze and the fabric has a subtle print. The red cardigan gives me needed color. Adding my Lucky Brand skinnies, that I've been getting a lot of wear out of, with Sam Edelman booties and I'm calling it "good!" I did the photos in a couple of sessions. In one I have both a locket (found at cabi outlet) and my French Kande fleur de lis necklace, the fleur de lis one got removed in the second session. And, because I can't leave well enough alone--Ha!--since I don't wear optic white, the shirt was tea dyed which gives it a soft, aged look. [To get this look, I used eight family-sized tea bags. The tea was steeped for a few minutes in a saucepan, then added to a sink full of water. The pre-wet shirt was added to the tea bath, then stirred around for a few minutes.]
The Takeaway
Style is all about adding personal touches. So go ahead and add a "conservative" cardigan to Boho styling, and feel free to tea dye a "perfectly good" top to get the exact look you want!
