About Style Imitating Art
Style Imitating Art challenges us to look to create an outfit using art as inspiration. In addition to colors, you may also want to look at textures, mood, style, genre. There are no "wrong" outfits, and you don't need to be literal.

My Look
When I saw the artwork, I knew immediately I was going to wear these pants and this top. I've tried them together before, but they desperately needed styling. Initially, I was considering a teal cardigan tied around my neck. And blue shoes. Not loving the blue shoes, I debated between leopard sandals and these gold loafers. You can see the gold shoes won out, I don't love them in the photos, though. (I purchased these shoes because I thought they were a nice look alike to Gucci's Marmont loafers. They are uncomfortable, though, so I should get rid of them!) I really wanted to add blue so tried the cardigan which ended up being overly dark for this springy look. A denim jacket was then considered, but it felt a bit heavy. Then I thought of this linen top. This is a combination I probably wouldn't have tried before blogging (a top over a tank sure, but two tops with sleeves, probably not). I'm quite smitten with this combo.
[The photos were taken outside a nearby elementary school. I was hoping to get the teal wall in the background. The bright sunlight behind me gave me pause, however, since those photos don't generally turn out that well. I wish I would have stuck with it, because the couple I took don't look too bad. ]
