Well... Before my Key West trip, I knew I didn't want to wear denim shorts (which I did end up doing, ugh, too hot), I thought I'd take a peek into American Eagle, since last year I was able to find a
summery maxi skirt. No island wear turned up, but way back in the sale section, I found these pieces.
The Details
Both the jeans and top were 60% off, so the total was under $50. I don't normally go for jeans that are this distressed. However, since Debbie at Fashion Fairy Dust has recommended the Tomgirl style several times, I gave them a try. She was right. I'm happy with the fit and cut. Coming in at about $24, I'm sure I'll get my money's worth. I like how the tie of my Freebird shoes bridges the gap between the hem and shoe top, too. And, what about this sweet peasant top? It's lightweight rayon with a fabulous cut, print and colors. I'm wearing the necklace and bracelet from my New Jewelry~Beading Bender post. Isn't this a perfect combo? I can also see the top interchanged with the jeans/sandals from my last post.
The Takeaway
Even if you're on a shopping mission, it pays to look at the sales racks and be willing to stretch your comfort zone. These tips might be second nature to many of you, but I'm guilty of not following them.
