Welcome to this edition of Style Imitating Art!
Style Imitating Art is hosted biweekly by Daenel~Living Outside the Stacks, Salazar~14 Shades of Grey and me. Style Imitating Art challenges us to look to create an outfit using art as inspiration. In addition to colors, you may also want to look at textures, mood, style, genre. There are no "wrong" outfits, and you don't need to be literal.

My Look
I took the cue from both the color and drape of the fabric and chose denim and chambray with volume in the pant legs and a soft ruffle with the peplum. Fortunately, the wide leg jeans are very similar in tone to the top.
The comptesse's alabaster skin is remarkable, as well, inspiring me to pull my soft white cabi Bishop cardigan. As much as I wanted to add a red necklace, the only red accent in my outfit is scattered red flowers on the belt. I decided on the plain key necklace to give a clean, simple look to the entire outfit.
P.S. We are in the throes of packing and moving! I plan to return to a regular blogging and commenting schedule sometime next week!!!
