October Purchases

Hey there!  We've had some cold weather these last couple of days and it's due to continue through the week, how about you?

I was feeling pretty good heading into fall as I didn't have anything on my "must have" wardrobe list.  I knew I'd need some cold-weather add ins, so figured I'd just roll with it as the occasions presented themselves.

My job dress code, such as it is, is neat jeans--no shredding or unfinished hems and closed in shoes.  I didn't realize how many of my jeans had both of those things!  Well, it worked out as my Florida collection was by and large crops and I wanted to get full length, anyway.  It was also the perfect opportunity to add bootcut jeans to my collection.

Starting with the top photo.  The shirt is the popular AE Plaid Button Shirt.  It comes in several colors and has pretty, feminine full sleeves.  (You may be able to see it better if you click over to their website.)  Note:  As of this posting, the website price is $17.98.  When I went into the store, the price was $29.99.  When you go to the cash register, you must pull the website listing up on your phone for them to give you the sale price.  I was going to get a couple of these, but I liked this color far and away the best, although it's so cute, I may reconsider getting a second one after all.

The jeans.  These are Wit & Wisdom Ab-solution Itty Bitty Bootcut Jeans.  They were ordered as a less expensive alternative to the Citizens of Humanity ones below.  They fit perfectly, however, the denim is lightweight and the wash is lighter than I prefer.

More jeans.  These are Pilcro Tapestry Mid-Rise Boyfriend jeans.  They fit great, maybe even a bit generous and are a boyfriend cut.  I'm pretty sure the patches are okay for work.  I didn't realize it until the current search for jeans, but boyfriends are my favorites.

ASOS Shoes as seen at my Shopping for Flat Shoes post.  If my feet are enclosed, they are probably not comfortable and that is the case here.  Oh, well.  Back they will go.

A coat!  When I was shopping I went back and forth on this one wondering if it was too boxy.  I wanted a mid weight coat with a quilted lining, but not a major winter one.  At least, not yet.  (I didn't wear sandals at the same time as the coat!)  I pulled out my phone and checked the weather forecast and it showed cold for the week--that made my decision for me.  I was so glad I purchased it when it was 46℉ (8℃) yesterday morning!  It looks rust, but it's actually pink and the faux shearling collar is removable.

Long sleeved shirt and premium jeans.  The shirt is made to look jacket-like, it has elbow patches and a faux waist drawstring.  The jeans were bought as a total impulse/splurge.  They are higher waisted (seen better at left), so give me more muffin top for the money.  I love how these look on and they're a nice weight denim and are my favorite wash.  For the record, both these and the above Wit & Wisdom jeans would have to be hemmed.  Looking for more jean options, I went to Nordstrom and tried on Kut from the Kloth and Paige, they both fit, but were just "meh."

If you have a favorite between the jeans, let me know!  They are side-by-side below.  At this point, I'm about ready to return the both of them and wait for the perfect ones to show up!

That's it for October purchases unless I get something else today or tomorrow!  What type of purchases did you make this month?
