This is the first time I've owned or styled a tunic in recent memory. I believe this is a tunic, anyway. I'm 5'9", if you're on the petite side, this may work as a dress.
The Details
Caite and Kyla recently gifted this to me, I'm guessing it's from their summer collection as it's no longer available online. I normally wear a large, but this is a medium and fits well. It has fun raw edges at the sleeves and hemline. The hemline is also slightly higher in the front and back, with the sides coming down to a point. I went with the narrow-bottom instinct and added my Paige skinny jeans. This is another one of those tops that I tea dyed--it was a bright white, now it's an aged beige and I think will transition it to fall more easily. The large-scale beaded necklace seemed like a nice balance to the heavier denim fabric and chunky sandals. While a tunic isn't something to which I'd naturally gravitate, this made a perfect errand running outfit with our weather currently in the mid 70℉s (21℃s). The slightly turned up cuff give the jeans a not-so-serious about the warm weather attitude.
The Takeaway
Keep in mind balance when mixing and matching accessories. If you're not a "tunic person," consider trying a short dress and see how it works out (maybe your daughter's?).
