The Challenge
Happy Wednesday, friends!  After my recent Mustard Yellow for Spring Summer 2020 post, I wanted to do a "three-ways" feature and thought using a topper would lend itself to plenty of options.  With this jacket, I could have kept going and going with different combinations, but narrowed it down to an "appointment look," "Boho look," and "doing errands" look.

The Details
I shopped my closet for everything except the skirt and it has all been on the blog before, I think.  The jacket was a lucky find at Nordstrom last summer while I was randomly browsing.  It's such a nice rich color and being linen it's lighter weight than denim, so is a perfect addition for warmer weather.

Look 1 I'm calling an "appointment look" for those times when you want to be comfortable, but a step up from blue jeans.  With this top, joggers, brown, burgundy or cream pants could be subbed in.

Look 2 or my "Boho look" can go just about anywhere.  I'd wear it to church or out shopping.  The top could be swapped out for any of the colors in the skirt.  This would be right at home with sneakers, too.  Of course, I also could have worn my burgundy Docs instead.  Sneakers are a "must get" for my spring/summer shopping list!

Look 3 is the most casual "errand look" with denim.  Adding an embroidered top, leopard belt and pretty jewelry takes even a laid back look up a notch.  I'd add sandals to this outfit in a heartbeat when the weather gets warmer.  Leopard booties or shoes would look great, as well.  Although, if I did that, I'd change the belt.  If I'm wearing leopard, I prefer one statement of it.

The Takeaway
If you've been thinking you may want to add a mustard piece of clothing to your wardrobe, I hope this have given you some ideas and inspiration as to what you may already have in your closet that would work.  I am very happy with the burgundy combination and want to try orange with it next.  Looking for items of clothing that have a bit of mustard in them, such as a floral print or a graphic t-shirt makes it so easy to put and outfit together.
