Friday Favorites #63

And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body.  And be thankful.  Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.  And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.  Col. 3:15-17

Hey, friends!  Happy Friday!  Yesterday, Steve and I used the community grill at our apartment to cook up some marinated chicken, then we ate on the patio outside.  It was so nice!  Being outside is good for the soul!

I've been doing a little shopping here and there.  A couple of things should be delivered that were ordered from eBay, too.  Anyway, let's take a look at some hits, misses and projects around here.

1) Sew a dress/caftan.  The top photo is similar to the pattern I'm going to make.  They are both designed by Cynthia Rowley.  In the lead for fabric choices is the above batik print challis.

151 Brand Pull On Shorts (similar)

Earl Tie Dye Bermuda shorts (similar)

2) Shorts.  I really would like a pair of white Bermuda shorts and know a couple of brands that usually work for me.  It looked like Stein Mart had them, so I headed on over.  The brands that I had hoped to get weren't in the store, so I tried the above.  The dressing rooms were closed, so I guess-timated which ones would fit.  The top pair is an XL and while they may look "okay," they are quite big.  The second pair is tie dye.  They actually kind of fit, but I wasn't too happy with how the crotch looked.  So I struck out with both of these.

3) Tops.  You've already seen both of these on the blog, so you know they are winners!  The color variation of the one on the left is already sold out!  Related Posts:  4 Tips for Wearing a Crop Top and Peter Max, Andy Warhol and Rock 'n' Roll.

4) Recent Makes.  (1) The stretch bracelets (also shown with the belt photo) were re-worked from an old necklace.  I had been winding the necklace around my wrist and wearing it that way, so finally decided to make bracelets from it.  (2) Turquoise necklace.  (3) Fabric sash belt from my 4 Tips for Wearing a Crop Top post.

5) Need your opinion!--Which font do you like best?  I've been playing around with several fonts and decided I need to keep things consistent:  1. 4 Tips for Wearing a Crop Top.  2. Visible Mending.  3. Styling Wide Leg Pants.  I have been using a different one for Friday Favorites and will probably continue with that one for Fridays.  Maybe.

Thanks so much for joining me this week!  I hope you have a wonderful weekend!  I'm planning a trip to Hobby Lobby today--I wonder what I might find there?!
