There was again a division among the Jews because of these words.  Many of them said, "He has a demon, and is insane; why listen to him?"  Others said, "These are not the words of one who is oppressed by a demon.  Can a demon open the eyes of the blind?"
John 10:19-21

Hey, friends!  Just letting you know, I did NOT tie dye these jeans, but that I purchased them and am having fun experimenting by adding them to my wardrobe!  PLUS, I've also been really anxious to unveil the copy cat top I've given you some clues/sneak peeks of.

Woot, woot!  Coming out to the balcony for this shoot was the least pain I've been in for weeks.  It wasn't a problem to walk from the camera to the other side of the balcony, no limping!  #smallmiracles.

First let's talk about these jeans!  When I was returning a purchase at Stein Mart (June or July, if you hurry to your local Stein Mart, you may still be able to find them), I saw these on the rack.  It was a "hmm, would these work?" moment.  While I don't love tie dye, I really was drawn to the splatter colors of these which are very much in my wheel house.  Since the dressing rooms were closed, I went ahead and purchased them thinking they'd either be pretty amazing or a horrible mistake.  Ya'll can probably guess they make the "pretty amazing" list!  With fall coming around, I want to find all the things that will go with these to extend their wear as long as possible.

Copy Catter!  The beige babydoll top (also from Stein Mart a couple of years ago) has been on the blog many times.  It's such a workhorse, I decided I wanted to copy it.  In red.  The fabrics are the same in that they are thin cotton.  I'm super happy with how it turned out.  (Dotted Swiss fabric from Etsy, red cluny lace from Joann.)

[Sewing notes:  I added almost 3" around the bodice seam, which was too much, 1" would have been plenty.  For the smocking, in mine, I used elastic thread in the bobbin.  If I make another one, I may do regular gathering.  Lace was left off the armhole openings and back of neck to reduce costs.  Also, next time, I think I'd add about 1/2" to the top bodice length, maybe.]
