Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.  Colossians 3:12-13

About Style Imitating Art
Welcome to this edition of Style Imitating Art!

Style Imitating Art is hosted biweekly by Salazar~14 Shades of GreyDaenel~Living Outside the Stacks and me.  Style Imitating Art challenges us to create an outfit using art as inspiration.  In addition to colors, you may also want to look at textures, mood, style, genre.  There are no "wrong" outfits and you don't need to be literal.

The Curator
This week's curator is me.  The current art selection is Garden Under Snow by Paul Gauguin.  For more info on this artist, check out WikiArt.  I selected it because I love the variations of soft white colors and although it's "still life," there is a lot of movement with tree trunks, what appears to be wind blowing and, of course, brush strokes.

My Look
I don't think I've ever selected a piece of artwork knowing what I wanted to wear, but today, I kinda did!  I looked at this skirt online all spring and summer.  I had no business buying it, but I did anyway!  It's hard to see in the photos, but it's kind of like an old-school jeans skirt where a big triangle is added in between the leg seams, so it's got a bit of an a-line.   It's called a midi skirt, but it's a maxi on me.

I really wanted to wear my cream Freebird booties, but my right foot, ankle and leg are so swollen from surgery, the Dr. Marten's are the only pair I could remotely get on my foot.

I got the camera adjusted and had Steve snap photos for me.  The walker is just to my right.  I thought I'd be able to hobble into the lens with the auto timer, but it was too much.  Gah, just now remembering my phone remote!

Anyway, you can see the direction I wanted to go with the soft denim and cream colors of the outfit.  The necklace was the first one I was able to grab and got lucky with the rust colors also being in the art.
