Friday Favorites ~ Around the House

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.  Colossians 3:16

Hey, friends!  I was going to start this post out with a fashion orientation, but decided to go ahead and give it an "all home" theme.  You may just have to suffer through (or not) some at-home posts since that's a Big Deal right now around here.

[I will start by saying I've been in a major funk--which is a huge understatement.  I'm going to try to get Fierce Fashion back on track in the coming days and weeks.]

The opening photo is of the before-mentioned fireplace.  I decided to use this Kantha throw that I purchased for the apartment as my inspiration piece.  You can see it has the peach/terra cotta color of the fireplace, the gold of the living room draperies (shown below) and the blue from the dining room.  The plan is (finally) really coming together in my head.

New black hardware.  One of the updates we did before Thanksgiving was change out the brass hardware for black, including the hinges.  I went back and forth between black and nickel and ended up with these.

Handy laundry hanger from Amazon.  The laundry room is set up as a pass through between the garage and kitchen.  There really didn't seem to be enough space to put a traditional clothes hanger in here, so I found this one where the items can hang parallel to the wall.

Fun area rug.  I've been so impatient to decorate the house.  When I saw this (5'x7' area rug), I figured it would make a good entry statement in the foyer.  It was inexpensive, so if I change my mind later, it won't be a big deal to change it out.

Pre-loved silk draperies.  These were found on FB Marketplace.  I got four custom gold panels for $50 total.  Obviously, they are too long.  I was planning on hemming them, however, I may end up trying to hang them up higher above the top window.  Where they are hung now makes the room seem shorter.  I know the color is dated, but I couldn't resist the price and if I get them to work for awhile, I'll be happy.  (The artwork on the mantel will eventually be hung above the sofa.)

Have a wonderful weekend!  I'll be back next week--one of the outfits I'll be featuring was inspired by PJs!
