The Challenge
Is it just me, or does it seem every time you want to go away somewhere, you have to start the thinking process all over again for what you'll need to bring/pack?
My recent trip into the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, consisted of flying out on Thursday morning and returning on Monday afternoon.  It entailed shopping to furnish an apartment, so the dress code was casual.  We mainly dined out--I even wore my sweatshirt to the Four Seasons for breakfast--which would not have been my preference, but I dressed according to the weather.

The Details
What I wore on the plane outbound:  Brown brushed twill pants, leopard pajama shirt, cabi Aerial cardigan, Ugg slip-on shoes (a blessing going though TSA), Patricia Nash handbag, belt.  Coming home, I wore the same pants and cardigan, but switched to the olive green knit shirt.

What I packed/wore:
-Pants (2):  Brown twill and Lucky Brand skinnies.
-Tops (5):  Ralph Lauren leopard pj top, Jones NY denim shirt, knit long sleeve teal top, knit olive green top, red Free People shirt (not worn).  "Extra" pink featherweight t-shirt (not worn).  Purchased while there from Target:  Smokey the Bear French terry sweatshirt.  This was a planned purchase, as I didn't have any warmer clothing at home.
-Accessories:  Two scarves, two necklaces, three pair earrings, red gloves
-Shoes (3):  Uggs, Ziera red shoes and Birkenstock sandals.  The sandals (not shown) were added at the last minute, because I know from experience, I'd better bring them.
-Jackets/Toppers (3):  The North Face rain jacket, cabi Aerial cardigan, Cotton On pink cardigan.

If you look at the collage, below, you will see my "starting point" for putting outfits together.  The red shirt was not worn because the weather got cold, so the sweatshirt was worn twice over the teal shirt.  The sweatshirt was left in TX, because I don't anticipate needing it at home.  I wore my jacket over the sweatshirt or cardigans as needed along with one of the scarves.

Everything fit in my carryon.  I was able to check my bag at the gate at no charge, so I took advantage of that.  If I hadn't, my crossbody would have fit inside my tote.  I carry a Le Pliage large tote for my laptop and sundries (book, meds, snacks), although I would like to find a different one, as the laptop slides around in the Le Pliage.

The Takeaway
This mix worked perfectly.  If you wear scarves, a trip is where they can really shine.  A side note about scarves:  If you are a scarf person, it pays to buy a higher end one if it goes with most of your clothing, as it will get a lot of use--the silk one here is Johnny Was.  If your wardrobe is a consistent palette, pulling items to pack is a breeze.

Chillin' using the apartment complex's wifi.
