About Me

Hello!  Welcome to my blog, I'm so delighted you're here!

Who am I?

I'm right at the beginning of the empty nest phase of my life and have not quite figured out how that is going to look, yet.  My husband and I have raised five children (four girls and one boy).  We currently have three adorable grandchildren.  My most recent endeavors have been a home style blog, owning a furniture consignment business and running an online store.  I enjoy styling outfits, decorating my home and studying theology.  My favorite thing to do is hang out with family.  We are originally from Michigan, have lived in the Tampa Bay area for 20 years and have recently relocated to the Ft. Worth, Texas, area.

Why fashion and style?

I have been interested in styling outfits for as long as I can remember (although, way back, I didn't realize it was called styling).  A pivotal event happened in 2014 that really honed my personal style.  My daughter introduced me to Dressing Your Truth (now frequently referred to as Living Your Truth).  It is an energy profiling system* in which you evaluate your own energy type, as in how you move through life--i.e., I've always been the proverbial "bull in a china shop!" and style and dress yourself in a way that honors you personally.  It has really resonated with me, as the program addresses makeup, hairstyle, clothing colors, fabrics, style lines, etc.  Everything I show you with regards to wardrobe selections will revolve around my energy type.  However, that doesn't mean you won't be able to translate many of my looks and tips into your own personal style.

I would like to also add that I miss the blogging community, it is by-and-large, big-hearted, generous, caring and packed with talent!  So if you are another blogger and reading this, please feel free to contact me, I would relish collaborating!

How can I help you?

You will get ideas and inspiration on how to cultivate and style your own wardrobe, to be open and creative with your fashions, and consider shopping pre-owned items.

Have you ever wanted to:
  • Figure out your own style?
  • Learn to make an off-the-rack item look more custom?
  • Wanted ideas to customize your own clothing?
  • Mix high and low priced garments/accessories
  • Shop more effectively?
  • Adopt a trend?
  • Not have black as a backbone of your wardrobe?
You're in the right place!

*[The system was developed by Carol Tuttle, who has also written several books which are worth looking at to help you discern family dynamics.  I am not a representative of the company.  There is a fee for some of the Living Your Truth products.  I have found that it has been an investment that has paid for itself many times over.  Some of Carol Tuttle's resources skew into new-age philosophies to which I do not subscribe.]

This is an old photo of family, but the only one I could find at the time.
