Style Imitating Art Inspiration: The End of Romance by Erte

Inspiration Artwork
The selected painting, entitled The End of Romance, is by Erté, a Russian-born French artist.

You can read more about Erté in this article.   It depicts a woman looking up at a snow-covered cupid.

The Curator
Welcome to my first hosting gig of Style Imitating Art!  This is a challenge hosted every two weeks by Daenel at Living Outside the Stacks and Salazar at 14 Shades of Grey, and now, me.  I decided to go with something along the lines of a Valentine's Day or love theme.  My goal was not to kill off romance--haha!  Amusing side note, my daughter went through a spell where her mantra was "Love is dead!"  I think she was disappointed that all relationships didn't follow the Hallmark movie scripts!

With this piece, I can see blue-grey/faded denim being used, polka dots or Swiss dot, possibly soft fabrics, pinks, burgundies, textured whites, green.  Can you see the etched heart on the base?

What do you think you'll wear?  I'm so looking forward to your interpretations!
