Hello and welcome to Friday Favorites #8. This week it's a lot about Easter. I hope yours was wonderful and blessed!
Surprise!
To start off, my youngest (Disney intern) daughter surprised me on Saturday night. She and Darling Husband cooked up a plan and he sneaked her in the front door while I was in the family room. He called me into the living room and there she was still in her Tomorrowland uniform--aww, love that! In the back of my mind I had a small hope that she could break away from work, but then figured it might be one of their busiest weekends. Apparently, several interns didn't have to work.
Easter & Brunch Outfit
When Disney Daughter (DD) whirled in, she told me she brought a white dress and yellow jacket and wanted to dress alike, again! All of my pre-planned Easter outfit ideas went out the window. Since the weather has been getting nice and chilly at night/early morning, I selected cool-weather items you've seen before, but have not put together. Goldenrod top from my LOFT try on, Free People jacket, pleated skirt, leopard booties with anklets(!). (Shown above.) She was a little disappointed that the colors didn't match better, but it was noticed at church that we were dressed alike, so mission accomplished!
Because it heats up so quickly, I was already too warm by brunch time. The same basic pieces were kept, but I swapped out the jacket for a long, light-weight Eileen Fisher cardigan, booties for sandals and my recently made necklace that I ❤️. DD decided to change to be more comfortable. We were joined by my oldest daughter. (Below.) Although my outfits were not colors you'd think of to wear for Easter, I was really happy with them.
Easter Bunny Visit
I was fortunate enough to have coffee with the Easter bunny on Saturday morning. The Easter bunny also visited with us at brunch on Sunday.
Dress Becomes Skirt
Yep, a little spending. I found this Lularoe dress marked down to $7 at a consignment store. Below is the after and before. The color is great--a yellowy orange. It was cut off at the waist and elastic added. It's poly, so I wouldn't have wanted to wear it as a dress, as a skirt, I'm good. I really like it now. The print is an ink-blue color and there are a few unicorns scattered around.
Cotton Unmentionables
Because so many pant styles are high-waisted these days, I looked for an underwear option that was also higher waisted. I found this Modern Movement brand at Dillard's. The style is 95% cotton, 5% spandex. They are comfortable, cool and not bulky at all, and would recommend them. I'm not 100% sure this is the exact style I purchased at the store, but it's the closet I could find online.
Thanks for joining this Friday Favorites! I'll see you next week!
