Style Imitating Art (Roundup): Blue Enamel Coffeepot, Earthenware and Fruit~van Gogh

Welcome to the Style Imitating Art Roundup.  Style Imitating Art is hosted by me, Daenel~Living Outside the Stacks and Salazar~14 Shades of Grey.  Every two weeks, we select a piece of art.  After
that, it is up to us (and you!) to make an outfit inspired by the artwork.  Let's see what today's participants have selected!

About Style Imitating Art
In addition to colors, you may also want to look at textures, mood, style, genre or contrasts.  There are no "wrong" outfits, and you don't need to be literal.

The Curator
This week's inspiration piece was curated by me.  Fierce Fashion Blog is where I like to add some refinement to edgier looks.  At least that's my goal!

The Co-Hosts
Daenel was inspired by the print on the pitcher and selected this gorgeous embroidered top, adding her favorite designer, Laurie Felt, jeans with the hint of orange from her earrings.  Doesn't she make you want a pair of clog shoes?  See her Style Imitating Art details.

Like me, Salazar also selected rust, wide-leg, cropped pants.  Her pretty flower-like print top echos the floral dinnerware and makes a pretty summer pairing.  See her Blue Enamel blog post to find out what happened to her dog and outfit details.

Kezzie~KezzieAG
Kezzie from KezzieAG selected a jumpsuit.  I love that she used the print on the dinnerware, combined with the blue of the coffeepot for inspiration and wore this fantastic jumpsuit.  Check out the pockets!

Jodie was inspired by the checked pitcher and wore her gingham pants that she found at Target earlier this spring shown on her Instagram.  I like how the yellow of the sweater is similar to the wall color in the artwork, as well.   She's also looking good with her white boots and clear handbag (which she is so clever with using).

My Look

It was a bit of a scramble to figure out what I wanted to showcase my gingham top with, but I'm happy with how the outfit turned out.  I especially like the mix of orange-y tones.
