Welcome to this edition of Style Imitating Art!
Style Imitating Art is hosted biweekly by Daenel~Living Outside the Stacks, Salazar~14 Shades of Grey and me. Style Imitating Art challenges us to look to create an outfit using art as inspiration. In addition to colors, you may also want to look at textures, mood, style, genre. There are no "wrong" outfits, and you don't need to be literal.

My Look
The first thing I thought of was this artwork would give me a good excuse to wear my new cabi joggers. I was going to go with a more literal look and wrap the scarf around my waist, but it wasn't giving me a soft flowing look, which would be my waist's fault--Ha! Leopard print (vs. tiger) was added with my bracelets and the subtle print of the scarf. I really wanted to add rust--since it's prominent in my wardrobe--tying the scarf around the tote handle seemed like a good option. For the record, this isn't a tote that gets carried daily, it's either for traveling or taking my laptop somewhere.
I wasn't sure how I was going to feel trying to blog after we moved, but getting back to a familiar routine via picture taking was really nice. Another bonus, since we are in an apartment and I don't know a soul, there was no need for any sheepishness when people saw me with my camera/taking photos. I did venture beyond the stairwell, but the lighting was the best there!
