Gingham Print Mix Inspiration

The Challenge
My friend, Kellyann, from This Blonde's Shopping Bag recently posted an outfit mixing a gingham top and her favorite long, striped cardigan.
She really inspired me to do print mixing with my gingham shirt and a cardigan (I don't have a striped one in a yellow/gold colorway) and this is what I came up with.  Miscellaneous note, I'm hanging on to my short cardigans like grim death--Bwah ha ha!  After I got all dressed up, I swung into my favorite morning coffee haunt and contemplated where I might want to take photos.

The Details
You've seen this gingham shirt way, way back at What to Pack for a Summer Weekend Getaway.  For whatever reason, I did not reach for it much this summer.  Maybe because it's higher maintenance?  It's linen so needs to be ironed--and I'm really "okay" with ironing as I find it kind of cathartic--it just not as quick of a turnaround.  I found this Talbot's cardigan while thrifting, the same trip where I found a couple other pieces from my Tips for Putting Together a Boho Look post.  I grabbed my cropped flares which fell out of favor after the spring time because they have a closer fit so are warmer.  My floral booties have been appearing quite a bit lately and I thought they were a great blend with this combo, too.

The Takeaway
Oh, yeah, I'm a theiving theiver now, too!  Don't you just love being inspired by so many other gifted bloggers?  Thanks, Kellyann, XO!

  3. This is a cool mix of patterns Kim! Love the yellow on you. It is funny, I didn't have any long cardis and now I have 5 from being influenced and liking the look on other bloggers. I got mine all on poshmark, so it worked out. Love the floral booties too!

  5. The tonal print-mixing here is stellar, Kim, and I particularly like how you've tied the colours in the booties to the necklace - nice! Those booties are sweet - they remind me of Fluevogs.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog and commenting! I do appreciate it! If you're ever in Victoria, BC, Canada, I would love to go shopping with you. :)

  7. Nicely done Kim! This outfit looks great and those booties of yours are icing on the clothing cake! The yellow gingham print is also a beauty. I love the vibrant color and while it's not the standard black and white print, this yellow one packs a whole lot of punch! I hope your day is going well so far and happy Tuesday!

  10. I love Kellyann's style and I adored that look of hers. You did it so excellent yourself, putting your own stamp to it. Inspired, yes! But definitely different still. Love the double dose of yellow on top. And sometimes short cardigans are best!

Welcome by every Thursday to link up with me on Thursday Moda. Thanks and Happy Sunday!
