The Challenge
Do you pack up your leopard prints when it gets hot outside?  Does it seem more like they belong to fall/winter dressing?  I guess we have a double challenge today.  1) How to wear leopard print in
summer and, my own personal challenge, 2) How to keep this leopard top in my wardrobe.  Let me explain!

The Details
It all started when I put this top in my "donate" pile of clothing.  It was purchased NWT in the winter from eBay.  The draw was that it is 100% cotton and the leopard print has the perfect coloring.  My camera didn't capture it very well, but what appears white in the photos, is actually a medium warm beige.  When it was purchased it had long sleeves.  You can picture what happened.  The first time it was washed it kind of lost its shape and shrank somewhat.  (I never put any tops other than knock-around t-shirts in the dryer.)  To make it work at that point, ribbed banding was added to the hem and sleeves.  Still didn't like it.  That's why it was in the donate pile--but, oh, the print!  Alright, shirt, you get One. More. Chance.  The banding was removed from the waist, the sleeves cut off, a bust dart added, and the armholes were given a quick hem.  Result?  All the love! ðŸ¥°

Now, to get it summer-ized!  (1) Pull out a summery cardigan and (2) favorite neutral bottoms--this would look amazing with white jeans, too!  Add (3) sandals and (4) light or breathable (i.e. leather) jewelry and you're good-to-go!  The necklace was selected because it added a little somethin' without fighting with the print, the opal bracelet was handmade by me.  The stones are from a gem show and the triple-wrap leather strap was found at Michael's.  And, how yummy (yes, yummy!) does the clearance Brahmin bag found at the outlets look with this combo (shown below)?  Oh, almost forgot my new-ish lipstick.  Isn't this just the sweetest?  It's called Shy Girl by MAC.  It's the cream formula and I added clear MAC lipglass over the top.

The Takeaway
Don't think of leopard as a summer print?  Take a look at your summer wardrobe pieces and see what lightens and brightens up your favorite leopard top.  Roar!

Like this soft focus?  It was condensation on the camera lens!
