The Challenge
As you know from my What's Up Wednesday post, I met up with a fellow Dressing Your Truth Facebook friend. My goal was to bring my bold, dynamic, A-Game self in Type 3 style.
The Details
You know how you have those times when you try several things on, but none of them is working for you? Well, this wasn't one of those times. I had the opposite happen and had two options that I liked really well. This particular outfit was put together around the holidays, well, because red. It never got worn at that time, but I knew it worked. The pants are from J.C. Penney; cardigan, Chico's (eBay); cami, Eileen Fisher; scarf, Isaac Mizrahi; red shoes (scarf/ shoes consignment). Bracelets, Snow Pine Design and Alex & Ani. The red pumps have shown up a couple of times on the blog. What I don't think I've ever mentioned is that when I bought these they were a cream color. They were painted with Angelus leather paint in Autumn Red. I think I'm ready to retire them, though, and will be keeping my eyes open for something else. And, full disclosure, we ate on the restuarant's patio and it was chilly! I was wishing I had full-length pants and warmer tops.
The Takeaway
Pre-planning outfits will save you frustration when you want to get ready without fuss, or in my case, in a hurry. If you find shoes not in a color you prefer or have an old pair that you aren't wearing anymore, consider painting them!
